Netbooks

The other day my flat was burgled and one of the things taken was my little Aspire One. Even more annoying, the day it was stolen I had just ordered a ZIF hard drive from an iPod to try and replace the SSD with.

Hopefully I will get a replacement on my insurance and then I can get Windows 7 on there and write a little guide for that too.

I recently treated myself to a little Acer Aspire One netbook. Its a great little piece of kit but after I eventually installed Windows XP on there I noticed it crawls! This is because the SSD has terribly slow write speeds. You can get around this by making a few tweaks to XP so I have outlined the steps I took to improve things.
