Importing media to Encore 3.0 or 4.0 crashes at 49% or 99%

So, you're trying to import some perfectly good assets into Adobe Encore for your Blu-Ray or DVD project?

Whats that? Its sitting there at 99% or something and not getting any further?

Yep, Encore is a load of shite. But I think I have found the solution.

It is to do with the MediaCache database sitting on a server if you are on a domain and have folder redirection on. If this isn't the case with you, give it a try anyway. It may well help.

Open regedit

Start -> Run -> regedit

Navigate to this registry setting:

My Computer ->
HKEY_CURRENT_USER ->
Software ->
Adobe ->
Common ->
MediaCache

Now you should have a key called:
DatabasePath2

Edit this to be something local on your machine. In my case I made a folder on E: called 'mediacache'. So I edited this to say:

E:\mediacache

Problem solved! I can import my media!
